Manuella Blackburn is an electroacoustic music composer known for her ability to forge vivid acousmatic worlds from everyday sounds. Her work is distinguished by a profound fascination with sonic detail, where micro-gestures and textures are carefully aggregated and sculpted into immersive acoustic environments.
Endowed with an extraordinary capacity to transform the ordinary into the extraordinary, Blackburn captures raw material from real-world sounds to reimagine them within playful and intricate compositions. Her music has been presented in festivals across over 15 countries.
Currently based in the UK, she holds the position of Reader in Music Technology and Sound Design at Keele University, where she continues to explore and push the boundaries of sound art.
